Pony Baseball Divisions

T-BALL (T-Ball division ages 4 – 5 years)

1 Practice & 1 Saturday Game Each Week

T-Ball is an instructional league to teach four and five-year-old players the fundamentals of baseball. This level is intended for all four-year-olds and five-year-olds who have not played previously.

We focus on instruction and fun, not competition. Coaches are allowed on the field to offer instruction during the game. All players are given the opportunity to try different positions and every player plays the entire game in the field. On offense, every player gets an at bat every inning and no official outs are recorded.

SHETLAND (Shetland Division ages 5 – 6 years)

1 Practice & 1 Saturday Game Each Week

Shetland is an instructional league to teach five and six-year-old players the fundamentals of baseball. It is intended for all six-year-olds and for five-year-olds who have previously played baseball..

Emphasis is on instruction and fun, not competition. Every player is given the opportunity to try different positions and every player plays the entire game.

PINTO AMERICAN (Pinto America Division ages 7 years)

1 Field & 1 Cage Practice | 1-2 Games each Week

Pinto American is an instructional league to teach seven-year-old players the fundamentals of baseball.

Emphasis is on instruction and fun. Every player will be given the opportunity to try different positions and every player is in the batting order. Innings are limited to 3 outs (or 5 runs).

PINTO NATIONAL (Pinto National Division ages 8 years)

1 Field & 1 Cage Practice | 1-2 Games each Week

Pinto National is an instructional league to teach eight-year-old players the fundamentals of baseball.

Emphasis is on instruction and fun. Every player is in the batting order and players rotate positions defensively. Kids begin pitching at this level on a 60-foot diamond, with a 40-foot pitching distance. Innings are limited to 3 outs or 5 runs (except the last inning).

MUSTANG (Mustang Division ages 9 – 10 years)

1 Field & 1 Cage Practice | 1-2 Games each Week

Mustang is an instructional league to teach nine and ten-year-old players the fundamentals of baseball. Beginning with Mustang League, the players are playing real baseball in accordance with the rules of Major League Baseball, with some PONY rules applied where appropriate for this age group.

BRONCO (Bronco Division ages 11 – 12 years)

1 Field & 1 Cage Practice | 1-2 Games each Week

Pony is an instructional division to help eleven and twelve-year-old players develop the necessary skills to be successful at the next level. The players are playing real baseball in accordance with the rules of Major League Baseball, with some PONY rules applied where appropriate for this age group.

PONY (Pony Division ages 13 – 14 years)

1 Field & 1 Cage Practice | 1-2 Games each Week

The Pony Division is considered a “high school” prep division for thirteen and fourteen year old players competing with 80’ bases and pitchers throwing from 54′. Pony players play one of the most fascinating games in all of youth baseball. They have mastered all but the finest points of technique and strategy. Professional coaches are hired for all teams at this division.
