2026 - 14U Pony Baseball Update

The 14U Pony Baseball division has become increasingly difficult to run as a true recreational program. At this age, many players begin preparing for high school baseball — moving to travel or club teams or wanting to play on full-size fields. As a result, the number of players interested in traditional Pony baseball has declined, making it hard to form enough teams for a full in-house season.

In recent years, Redondo Sunset has only been able to form two or three teams, which isn’t enough for a regular league schedule. We’ve explored partnerships with nearby leagues, but there are currently no other recreational 14U Pony programs in the area. A trial partnership last year with South Bay Pony — which runs a more competitive, travel-style program on high-school fields — received negative feedback from our families.

For Spring 2026, our best option is to create a smaller, local experience — either two teams playing each other weekly or a “sandlot-style” program similar to our summer season. Please use the registration form below to register for the 2026 Pony Spring Season.

We appreciate your understanding as we continue to explore ways to keep older players engaged and on the field.

Please use the age chart below to make sure your child is eligible for our 2026 Spring Pony Division. If your player’s age falls in the range of  other divisions please use the form found here to register.
