Select Fall Ball Overview

Redondo Sunset is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for returning Spring players to participate in a competitive Fall League this year. We are looking to field Select Teams in the following divisions: Pinto American, Pinto National, Mustang 9U, Mustang 10U, Bronco 11U, and Bronco 12U.

What is the Fall Select Program?

Select provides skilled players with the chance to compete at a more challenging level during the Fall Season. It offers elevated competition against other Select, Travel, and All-Star Caliber teams. Select teams will participate in the South Bay Pony Fall League and may also participate in competitive tournaments.

September 1st marks the start of the new PONY Baseball calendar year, meaning players will move up to the next Division. For example, if your child played Pinto National 8U this past Spring, they would move up to Mustang 9U this Fall.

The Program’s goal is to build off of our 2025 Spring Rec, Select, and All-Star Seasons by further developing players’ fundamental skills as they advance into their next Divisions for the 2025-2026 Baseball Season.

How are Players Selected?

Participation in the Select Program is a privilege. To be eligible for the Program, a player must have been an active participant in Redondo Sunset’s 2025 Spring Rec Ball Season. Roster spots are not guaranteed, and prior participation in Select and/or All-Star teams is not a requirement for eligibility.

• • Players will be selected by the team Managers in their respective divisions.
  • Player evaluations, input from previous coaches (e.g. coachability), and assessments of players’ attitude and commitment level will all play roles in Manager selections.
  • Tryouts may be held at the Manager’s discretion as part of the evaluation process.
  • We understand that many families have additional commitments during the Fall Season. Players are asked to indicate their availability throughout the Fall Season as this may influence Managers’ decisions regarding the roster size.
  • Players must be willing to play for whichever Manager is selected.
  • If selected to a team, a non-refundable participation fee will be required.
  • Depending on interest and available coaches, we may draft more than one Select team in certain divisions.
